The draw for the 3rd round of the 2014/15 FA Cup was held this evening and as usual it’s thrown up some intriguing ties.
Arsenal were first out of the hat and were sensationally drawn to play Hull City at the Emirates for what will be a repeat of last years final. The Gunners obviously won it at Wembley but had to come from 2-0 down so they’ll know it will be a tough game this time around as Steven Bruce’s men go in search of revenge.
The Premier League’s top two will be confident of progressing as Chelsea were handed a home draw to take on Watford at Stamford Bridge while Manchester City will welcome Championship side Sheffield Wednesday to the Etihad Stadium.
Liverpool face a tricky cup tie away to League Two outfit AFC Wimbledon while Tottenham Hotspur will take on Burnley at Turf Moor in an all Premier League clash.
However, possibly the tie of the round will see either Accrington or Yeovil host European giants Manchester United in a game that is almost certain to be selected for live television coverage.
Other notable ties include West Bromwich Albion taking on Gateshead, Blyth Spartans versus Birmingham City, Derby County vs Southport, Leicester City will host Newcastle and Everton take on West Ham at Goodison Park.
All games will be played on the weekend of January 3rd 2015, and you can see a full run-through of the draw here.
