Manchester United players have been paying tribute to Darren Fletcher after the long-serving midfielder joined West Bromwich Albion on deadline day.
Fletcher joined United as an 11 year old way back in 1995 and came through the clubs youth ranks before breaking into the first team set-up under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2003.
The Scotland international went on to make 342 appearances for United over the next 12 years and lifted five Premier League titles, one Champions League and an FA Cup during his illustrious career at Old Trafford.
However, having struggled to establish himself as a regular under Louis van Gaal this season, the 31-year-old has now left to link up with Tony Pulis at West Brom where he’ll look to resurrect his career following a battle against ulcerative colitis.
Some of the United players have taken to Twitter this morning to wish Fletcher well at his new club, with David De Gea, Phil Jones, Ander Herrera and Ashley Young all paying tribute to the midfielder, and I’m sure more players will join in throughout the course of the day.
Here is what the boys had to say:
Thanks for your football, for your support, for everything since I got here. Good luck with WBA! #ThankYouFletch pic.twitter.com/P38ztZMnvE
