[Tweets & Photos] Rooney, Mata & Blind Celebrate Online After Man Utd Beat Spurs
Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Daley Blind were among the players to celebrate online after Man Utd’s 3-0 win over Tottenham. See what they had to say here.
Manchester United gave their top four hopes a major boost after beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Marouane Fellaini opened the scoring early on before Michael Carrick doubled United’s advantage just minutes later with a header following a 19th minute corner.
The hosts then wrapped up the win before half-time as Wayne Rooney bundled his way through a vulnerable Spurs defence to slot past Hugo Lloris for 3-0.
There were no further goals after the break and the win sees United move four points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool while they’re now just two points off second-placed Man City.
Understandably, some of the players were keen to celebrate the victory on social networks on Sunday evening and Rooney has taken to his official Facebook page to upload a photo of him after he’d scored his goal today with a message simply reading ‘3 points. Job done’.
Fellow goal-scorer Carrick was joined on Twitter by Juan Mata and Daley Blind as the trio also expressed their delight at United’s latest victory.
