Tottenham Hotspur entertain Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon in this weekends stand-out fixture. 

Spurs head into the game sitting sixth in the Premier League table but their chances of qualifying for the Champions League got a welcome boost following Manchester United’s 1-0 loss at home to West Brom this evening.

The North Londoners hopes of a top four finish appeared dead and buried after only winning two of their last six league games but Utd’s slip-up has opened the door and they can move to within four points with victory tomorrow.

United’s loss was also a welcome one at the Etihad as City can now move five points clear of their rivals and tighten their grip in second if they leave the Lane with all three points on Sunday.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men have put in a weak defence of their title but they’ll still be keen to finish the season strongly and secure a top three position to ensure they don’t have to face a tricky Champions League qualifier in August.

Team news

Tottenham should welcome back Danny Rose after the full-back returned to training following a hamstring injury.

His return is well-timed as Ben Davies has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder.

Kyle Walker is also out with a foot problem while the likes of Younes Kaboul and Emmanuel Adebayor continue to be out-of-favour.

City have been dealt a blow with Yaya Toure ruled out with a hamstring problem that he picked up against West Ham last week.

Skipper Vincent Kompany is also still out with a groin problem so he joins striker Stevan Jovetic on the sidelines.

However, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy could be back in contention.

Tottenham 1-1 Man City: Spurs have been in inconsistent form of late but they usually up their game when the big-boys come to town and I think they’ll play-out a score draw against City this weekend.

Betting Tips

City are the slight favourites to win the game but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 5/1 for a City win and 10/1 for a home win tomorrow, plus you can get money back if you lose + £100 in free bets. However, my prediction of 1-1 is available at 13/2 while I also like the look of Christian Eriksen to opening the scoring at 17/2.
