The Colombian was surprisingly given another chance to prove himself in the Premier League by Jose Mourinho after enduring a torrid 12 months on loan at Manchester United last season.
However, Mourinho believes he can get Falcao back to the kind of form that saw him regarded as one of the most feared strikers in world football during spells with Porto and Atletico Madrid.
The 29-year-old completed a season-long loan move to Stamford Bridge back at the start of July but he’s had to wait to kick start his new career as he’s been on an extended break following his participation at the Copa America.
Falcao finally linked up with the Chelsea squad in New York yesterday where he trained with his new team-mates ahead of their game with the New York Red Bulls. The striker wasn’t involved but watched on as Chelsea lost 4-2.
