Chelsea Team News: Mourinho Confirms Attacker Could Miss Man City Clash
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has given a team news and injury update ahead of their huge clash with Manchester City this weekend. See details here
Chelsea will look to put a turbulent week behind them and get their title defence back on track when they travel to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has been speaking at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and has given Chelseafc.com a team news and injury update.
Unfortunately, the Portuguese coach confirmed that influential attacker Oscar is a doubt for the trip to the Etihad Stadium after picking up a knock in training this week.
Mourinho didn’t disclose any further information regarding the injury other than to say it was ‘little’, so we’d expect the Brazilian to be back in contention next weekend if he misses out on Sunday.
In other team news, number 1 goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will serve his one-match suspension after failing to overturn the red car he received against Swansea City last weekend.
Jose: 'Oscar is a doubt, he had a little injury in training. Courtois is suspended, apart from that it's all good.' #CFC

The Belgian international was dismissed early on in the second half at Stamford Bridge so Asmir Begovic is on stand-by to make his full competitive debut against City.
Otherwise, Chelsea have a fully-fit squad to choose from, meaning that Diego Costa has showed no sign of ill-effect after completing the full ninety minutes last week having recently recovered from a hamstring injury.

Chelsea got their title defence off to a disappointing start last week after drawing 2-2 with the Swans at home so they’ll be desperate to register their first three points of the new campaign with a win over one of their nearest title rivals.
