Wayne Rooney became England’s all-time leading goal-scorer after netting late on to secure England a 2-0 win over Switzerland on Tuesday night.
After a goalless first half at Wembley, England finally found the break-through when Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane fired home from a Luke Shaw pull back in the 67th minute.
Roy Hodgson’s men continued to press for a second goal and it eventually came with just 6 minutes remaining when the hosts were awarded a penalty after Raheem Sterling was fouled in the box.
Manchester United striker Rooney had the perfect opportunity to become England’s all-time top goal-scorer and he didn’t disappoint as he smashed home his 50th international goal to make it 2-0.
