Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata are among the players who’ve been celebrating Manchester United’s win over Sunderland on social media. See what they’ve said
Manchester United moved to the top of the Premier League with a 3-0 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils had to wait until the stroke of half-time before opening the scoring through Memphis Depay before Wayne Rooney broke his goal-scoring drought with the second shortly after the break.
Juan Mata then scored a late third to wrap-up the victory which saw United leapfrog rivals Manchester City into top spot after their lose away to Tottenham earlier in the day.
With United now sitting proudly at the top of the table, understandably the players were in buoyant mood after the game and several have taken to social media websites to post celebratory messages to their followers.
Chris Smalling, Juan Mata, Daley Blind, Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Bastian Schweinsteiger have all taken to Twitter to react to the game while skipper Wayne Rooney also posted a message on his Facebook page.
