Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has shared a picture of him giving the thumbs-up from his hospital bed after undergoing surgery on his shoulder.
Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has shared a picture of him giving the thumbs-up from his hospital bed after undergoing surgery on his shoulder.
Rojo dislocated his shoulder during a training session at United’s Carrington training base last Wednesday and was immediately ruled out of action for the foreseeable future.
The Argentinean international missed United’s 0-0 draw with West Ham on Saturday and last night’s disappointing 3-2 Champions League defeat at Wolfsburg as the club sought advice on how best to deal with the injury.
It appears the Red Devils have decided surgery is the best course of action as Rojo has taken to Instagram this afternoon to upload a photo of him in his hospital bed with a message saying his operation was a success.
It’s not clear how long the defender will be sidelined for but it comes as another blow to manager Louis van Gaal who are seen his squad decimated by a series of injury problems this season.
With Luke Shaw out for the majority of the campaign with a broken leg and fellow defenders Phil Jones and Paddy McNair also injured, the Dutch boss was forced to play youngster Guillermo Varela at left-back for last night’s crucial Champions League showdown at Wolfsburg.
I’m sure everyone at United is wishing Rojo a speedy recovery from his latest injury. Here is the post he uploaded to Instagram earlier:
