Man Utd v Fenerbahce Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Man Utd take on Fenerbahce at Old Trafford tonight. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score for the game
Manchester United will be looking to take control of their Europa League group when they take on Fenerbache at Old Trafford this evening.
United currently sit third in Group A with three points from two games after narrowly beating Zorya Luhansk last time out having lost their opener away to Feyenoord back in September.
Victory tonight would see Jose Mourinho’s team leapfrog Fenerbahce – who sit top of the pile after collecting four points from their opening two group stage matches so far.
United warmed up for the game with a resolute performance at Anfield that saw the Red Devils leave with a hard fought point but Mourinho is expected to shuffle his pack ahead of Sunday’s Premier League trip to Chelsea.
The game sees Robin van Persie return to Old Trafford for the first time since leaving United in 2015 after scoring 58 times in 105 appearances with the Dutch striker playing a pivotal role in reclaiming the title in 2013.
Team news
United have been boosted by the return of Luke Shaw with the England international set to start at left-back after recovering from a groin injury that’s kept him out for the last five games.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is also back in the squad after finally overcoming a thigh problem that’s hampered him since September while Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin are also pushing for recalls after missing the draw at Liverpool with minor knocks.
Wayne Rooney is expected to come back in to the starting eleven after being left out for the last three matches while the likes of Sergio Romero, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Michael Carrick and Juan Mata will also be hoping for some game-time.
Fener will be without regulars Ozan Tufan and Salih Ucan while Jermaine Lens and Moussa Sow are also doubts for the game.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Man Utd 2-1 Fenerbahce: United proved they can still grind out a result with their 0-0 draw at Anfield but the fans will be expecting a far more adventurous performance on home soil tonight. Fener are a dangerous side on their day and I do see them causing United plenty of problems, but feel the hosts will do enough to edge it.
