Some of the Manchester United players have been celebrating on Twitter after they booked their place in the last-32 of the Europa League with a 2-0 victory over Zorya Luhansk on Thursday night.

On a freezing night in Ukraine, it was summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan who gave the travelling fans something to warm them up as he waltzed through the home side’s defence to slot home the opening goal shortly after the break.

Paul Pogba then released Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a superb ball just minutes before full-time and the Swede made no mistake to secure United all three points with a comfortable 2-0 win in Odessa.

The victory ensured United booked their place in the knockout stages of the competition but they go through as runners-up after Fenerbahce beat Feyenoord in last night’s other group A match.

Some of the players have been celebrating on Twitter with Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young, Michael Carrick, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Chris Smalling, Ander Herrera, Eric Bailly and Juan Mata all posting photos and messages on the social media site.
