The Red Devils opened the scoring in the 42nd minute as Henrikh Mkhitaryan beat Robert Huth to the ball in the centre cirle and raced clear to slot past Kasper Schmeichel for 1-0.
United doubled their advantage just two minutes later as Antonio Valencia burst down the right wing before finding Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a cut back. The Swede made no mistake to score his 20th goal of the season.
The three points were wrapped up shortly after half time as Juan Mata fired home in the 49th minute following some good work from Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic.
The wins sees United move to within just two points of fourth-placed Arsenal with 14 games remaining.
