Tottenham Team News: Key Duo Doubtful, 2 Others Ruled Out
Spurs have offered a team news update ahead of their clash with Fulham and it looks like the north Londoners could be without up to four key men this weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to book their place in the quarter finals of the FA Cup when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.
The club have now offered a team news update ahead of the game and it looks like the north Londoners could be without up to four key men this weekend.
Harry Kane picked up a knee injury during Thursday night’s 1-0 defeat to AAA Gent in the first leg of their Europa League last-32 tie.
The striker suggested after the game that the injury was nothing serious but Tottenham have now confirmed that Kane will face a late fitness test before his availability on Sunday is known.
Jan Vertonghen could make his comeback after returning to training today having recovered from an ankle injury that’s kept him on the sidelines for the past month.
Pochettino suggested earlier this week that the Belgian international may be involved against Fulham this weekend but a late decision will be made over Vertonghen’s availability.
However, Danny Rose is certain to miss out as the left-back is still nursing a knee injury that he suffered during the 0-0 draw with Sunderland on January 31st.
Rose has been responding well to treatment but Spurs have refused to put a time-scale on his recovery so Ben Davies is expected to once again start at left-back this weekend.
Erik Lamela is also still missing as the Argentinean international continues to work his way back to full fitness after missing the last four months with a troublesome hip injury.
