Saint-Etienne vs Man Utd Preview, Team News, Line-Up, Betting Tips & Prediction
Man Utd take on Saint-Etienne in their Europa League second leg this evening. Here is a preview with team news, line-up, betting tips and predicted score.
Manchester United will be looking to get the job done when they take a commanding lead in to the second leg of their Europa League clash with Saint-Etienne this evening [kick off 5pm GMT].
United head to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard holding a 3-0 lead after Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a hat-trick in the first leg at Old Trafford last week to put one foot in the last-16.
It was the ideal result for the Red Devils as Jose Mourinho can now rest some of his key men ahead of Sunday’s EFL Cup final against Southampton.
The Manchester giants warmed up for the game with a 2-1 comeback victory over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup while St Etienne suffered their third defeat in four games with a 2-1 loss at Montpellier.
Team news
United will be without Ander Herrera due to suspension after he picked up his third Europa League booking of the season last week. Marouane Fellaini is expected to replace the Spaniard in midfield.
Wayne Rooney is back in light training after recovering from a hamstring injury but hasn’t travelled to France while Phil Jones is also still out with an on-going foot injury.
Matteo Darmian and Luke Shaw weren’t included in the 20-man squad that arrived in France yesterday but Sergio Romero could keep his place in order to protect David De Gea ahead of the EFL Cup final.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is another player who could be rested but we might see Paul Pogba line-up in midfield – although Bastian Schweinsteiger is an option if Mourinho wants to give his record signing a breather.

Predicted Score
Saint-Etienne 1-2 Man Utd: United are in great form right now and have lost just once in their last 24 games in all competitions so I can’t see past anything other than a positive result for the away side. I don’t think it will be an easy night’s work as St Etienne need to throw everything at them in order to try and turn things around, but I fancy United to edge it 2-1 to progress 5-1 on aggregate.
Betting Tips
United are the 23/20 favourites to win the game but if you want more value then our predicted score is available at 17/2. If you throw in Marcus Rashford as first goal-scorer in a 2-1 United win then it’s on offer at very tempting odds of 25/1.
