World Class Hitman Agrees Personal Terms With Man Utd Ahead Of £89m Move
Antoine Griezmann has agreed terms with Manchester United over a £280,000-a-week contract ahead of a proposed £89m summer switch from Atletico Madrid
Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd close in on a deal to sign Antoine Griezmann…
Antoine Griezmann has agreed terms with Manchester United over a £280,000-a-week contract ahead of a proposed £89m summer switch from Atletico Madrid, according to The Sun.
Jose Mourinho is gearing up for a busy few months in the transfer market and his need to sign at least one top class striker was heightened after Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a serious knee ligament injury.
Wayne Rooney is also expected to leave Old Trafford after falling out-of-favour so United are looking to re-shape their attacking options this summer and Griezmann has long been touted as one of their prime targets.
It looks like a deal has moved closer to becoming a reality as The Sun claim that Griezmann has now agreed personal terms with United over a five-year contract worth £280,000-a-week.
The newspaper says United are already preparing the logistics of the transfer and will meet the £89m buyout clause that’s inserted in to the 26-year-old’s Atletico Madrid contract this summer.
It’s also suggested in the report that United will look to get the deal wrapped-up as soon as the transfer window re-opens at the start of June with Mourinho expecting Griezmann to report for pre-season training in July.
It’s difficult to know how much truth there is behind The Sun’s report as there is so much speculation in the media these days but obviously it would be a major coup if United are able to complete the signing of Griezmann this summer.
The French international has become one of the best strikers in the world since joining Atletico and he’s scored 25 goals and provided a further 11 assists to help the Spaniard’s reach the semi-finals of the Champions League this season.

United could certainly do with adding that sort of fire-power to their attack as a lack of goals has seriously undermined their Premier League title hopes this year.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but Griezmann would be a sensational signing for United if they manage to lure him to Old Trafford this summer and I’d love to see him plying his trade in England next season.
