Manchester United booked their place in the final of the Europa League after a nervy 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo at Old Trafford this evening to progress 2-1 on aggregate.
United went in to the second leg holding a 1-0 advantage from last weeks first leg and they took control of the tie with a goal mid-way through the first half.
Marcus Rashford was the creator as the young striker found Marouane Fellaini with a superb deep cross and the Belgian international headed home at the far post for 1-0 in the 17th minute.
United struggled to get the second goal to put the tie to bed and they had to endure a nervous end to the game as Celta levelled things up in the 85th minute when Facundo Roncaglia headed home for 1-1.
Both sides were then reduced to 10-men with Eric Bailly and Roncaglia both dismissed following a bust-up in the centre-circle so the Ivorian international will miss the final.
Another goal would have seen the La Liga side progress on away goals but United held on to secure their place in the final where they’ll face Ajax following their 5-4 aggregate win over Lyon.
