Tottenham take on Man Utd at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score
Tottenham Hotspur will play their final Premier League game at White Hart Lane when they entertain Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs will bring an end to their 118 year stay at the Lane so it’s sure to be an emotional affair but sadly for the north Londoners they have very little left to play for.
Chelsea wrapped-up the title with a win at West Brom last night so all Mauricio Pochettino can do is try to lift his squad to ensure they give their home a fond farewell.
United arrive in the capital having booked their place in the final of the Europa League on Thursday night so Jose Mourinho has made that his priority over trying to finish in the top four.
A defeat at Arsenal last weekend has left United sixth in the table and five points off fourth-placed Liverpool but even with a game in hand the Red Devils know the Europa League is their best chance of securing Champions League football next season.
Team News
Spurs will continue to be without Danny Rose as although the left-back has returned to full training, he’s still not fit enough to feature having been on the sidelines with a knee injury since January.
Erik Lamela is also still recovering from a long-term hip problem while Harry Winks won’t play again this season due to an ankle ligament injury.
Mourinho is expected to make plenty of changes from the side that played in Europe on Thursday but Eric Bailly is likely to retain his place as he’ll be suspended for the Ajax game following his sending off.
David De Gea is set to be recalled in goal while the likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Michael Carrick, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney are also pushing for starts.
Marouane Fellaini serves the final game of his three-match ban while Luke Shaw, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are out for the season.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Tottenham 2-1 Man Utd: Spurs will need to pick themselves up after their title disappointment but they owe the fans a performance to give WHL the sending off it deserves. United’s priority is clearly the Europa League final and Mourinho will field a weakened team so I fancy Tottenham to edge it.
