Premier League football returns after the international break as Manchester United welcome Swansea City to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

United booked their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win over Brighton last time out but their focus will be fixed solely on league matters this weekend.

The Red Devils currently sit second in the table but with Liverpool just two points behind they could find themselves in third come 3pm if their rivals beat Crystal Palace in the early kick off.

Jose Mourinho’s men will welcome a rejuvenated Swansea to Old Trafford with Carlos Carvalhal losing just two of his 10 league games since arriving as manager in December.

That run has helped the Welsh outfit move out of the relegation zone and up to 14th place but Swansea are still only three points clear of 18th so they’ll be desperate for a positive result tomorrow.

Team news

United welcome Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo back in to the squad after they recovered from injuries that have kept them out for almost two months.

Ander Herrera is also back in contention following a hamstring injury while Mourinho is confident Ashley Young will be fit despite picking up a knock while playing for England.

Daley Blind is back in training after an ankle injury but this game comes too soon while Sergio Romero has been ruled out for a few weeks with a knee injury.

Swansea have no fresh injury concerns but Renato Sanches and Angel Rangel remain out while Jordan Ayew serves the second of a three-match ban.

Man Utd 3-0 Swansea: United have already beaten Swansea twice this season thanks to a 4-0 win at the Liberty and a 2-0 League Cup victory in October. There is no doubt the visitors have improved under Carvalhal but I can’t see past a comfortable home win tomorrow.
