FA Cup: Tottenham vs Man Utd | Team News | Expected Line-Up’s | Prediction | Betting
Tottenham take on Man Utd in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Saturday. Here is a preview with the latest team news, line-ups and prediction
Manchester United and Tottenham will face-off at Wembley on Saturday evening as they battle for a place in the final of the FA Cup.
The two clubs are separated by just six points in the Premier League table with second-placed United holding the advantage but their eyes will be firmly focussed on FA Cup matters this weekend.
While Mauricio Pochettino has helped Spurs break in to the top four in the league the north Londoners are looking to win their first piece of silverware since lifting the League Cup in 2008.
United have obviously won plenty of trophies in recent years and last lifted the FA Cup in 2016 but Jose Mourinho will be looking to claim the trophy for just the second time having won the FA Cup with Chelsea in 2007.
Spurs warmed up for the game with a hard fought 1-1 draw at Brighton on Tuesday night while United eased to a 2-0 win at Bournemouth the following evening.
Team news
United have no fresh injury worries to contend with as goalkeeper Sergio Romero is the only absentee with the Argentinean international still nursing a knee injury.
Mourinho is expected to recall a number of players with Alexis Sanchez, Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku, Eric Bailly, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young among those set to come back in.
Tottenham will continue to be without Danny Rose as the left-back is nursing a calf injury while Harry Winks is still working his way back from an ankle injury.
Pochettino will also recall some of his key men with Dele Alli, Davinson Sanchez, Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele expected to come in after being rested in midweek.
Expected line-ups
Predicted Score
Tottenham 2-1 Man Utd: Spurs have lost each of their last seven FA Cup semi-finals so Pochettino will be desperate to take that final step this weekend. Mourinho has tried to play down the idea that this could be viewed as a ‘home’ game for Spurs but the fact they’ve played all their home matches at Wembley this season has to be an advantage for their players. Tottenham have looked solid all season and I think they’ll just edge this one tomorrow.
