Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game as Manchester United ended the Premier League season with a 1-0 victory over Watford at Old Trafford this afternoon.
It was a slow start from United but they eventually got going and broke the deadlock in the 34th minute and it was largely down to the brilliance of Michael Carrick.
The soon-to-be-retiring midfielder played a superb ball over the top of the Watford defence for Juan Mata and the Spaniard squared for Marcus Rashford to tap home for 1-0.
United dominated the second half but struggled to create many clear-cut chances so had to settle for a narrow 1-0 victory that sends them in to next weekend’s FA Cup final against Chelsea with a morale-booting win.
