Manchester United Handed Major Injury Boost Ahead Of Tottenham Clash

Manchester United have been handed a major injury boost after Alexis Sanchez returned to light training ahead of Monday’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
Sanchez was forced to miss Sunday’s shock 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium after picking up a knock in training on the eve of United’s trip to the South Coast.
Anthony Martial replaced Sanchez in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven against the Seagulls but the French international failed to make an impact and was substituted in the 60th minute while Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford also failed to make an impact in the final third.
It initially looked like Sanchez was set to miss the visit of Tottenham to Old Trafford on Monday night as Mourinho said after the Brighton game that although the injury wasn’t serious, the Chilean superstar was still facing up to two weeks on the sidelines.
After the loss on Sunday, Mourinho he said:
“I don’t know really (the extent of Sanchez’s injury), let’s wait for the results of the studies.” Mourinho is quoted as saying by the Sun
“But I don’t think it’s a big thing. I think it will be one or two weeks maximum.”
However, it looks like Man Utd have been handed a major injury boost as Sanchez has taken to Instagram to reveal that he’s already back in light training as he looks to get himself fit to face Spurs.

Sanchez may not have found his best form on a consistent basis since joining United from Arsenal back in January but the 29-year-old is still a regular under Mourinho and he has the ability to do something special at any moment.
United certainly lacked a spark in the final third against Brighton so Mourinho will be hoping Sanchez is able to prove his fitness over the coming days as the Portuguese coach looks to ease the pressure with a crucial win against Tottenham on Monday night.
