Goalkeeper: David De Gea is certain to keep his place between the sticks. If there’s one player guaranteed to start week-in, week-out, it’s the Spaniard. With Sergio Romero continuing to work his way back to full fitness following knee surgery Lee Grant will be on the bench once again.
Defence: United’s defence was shocking at Brighton last week and there have been reports suggesting that Mourinho is ready to play three at the back against Tottenham tomorrow night.
Chris Smalling is the man most likely to come in with the England international joining Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof in defence. The pair are likely to retain their places despite criticism for their performances at the Amex Stadium last time out.
Midfield: Antonio Valencia is back in full training and could return on the right so Ashley Young may drop out with Luke Shaw keeping his place on the left after an impressive start to the new campaign.
Nemanja Matic is back in full training after recovering from an abdominal injury so the Serbian international is expected to be recalled in the holding role with youngster Andreas Pereira making way.
Paul Pogba is certain to keep his place in the starting eleven despite on-going speculation surrounding his future and his relationship with Mourinho so Fred could drop out after an indifferent start to life at Old Trafford.
The likes of Marouane Fellaini and Scott McTominay could join Fred on the bench tomorrow night while Ander Herrera is also vying for a place in the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Attack: Alexis Sanchez is back in contention after overcoming a minor knock that kept him out of the Brighton game so he could join Romelu Lukaku in attack against Tottenham.
Jesse Lingard is pushing for a recall so the England international could come in for Juan Mata after his disappointing display on the south coast last week. Anthony Martial is expected to make way after failing to take his opportunity against Brighton while Marcus Rashford could join him on the bench.
Here is how we think United will line-up:
