Man United v Wolves: Preview & Predicted Score
At the moment, things are good for United. Five points clear at the top of the table, a solid defence lead by the colossus that is Nemanla Vidic and a forward line that is full of goals. It was great to see Rooney grab two goals at the weekend and hopefully he can press on, continuing that form. Tough games lie ahead however, which makes it all the more important we pick up the three points against Wolves today.
In fact, if we avoid defeat today at Molineux, it will be a club record 30 game unbeaten run for United. It is quite amazing, considering our indifferent form at stages throughout the season. However, it is a quite a significant achievement and not one to be balked at. The truth is though that Fergie would not be happy coming away from from Wolves today with a draw and only a won will suffice for the Scot.
In team news, Rafael looks set to return after a head injury he suffered at Blackpool. Aside from long term injuries to Hargreaves and Valencia, there is pretty much a clean bill of health to report. One massive strong to our bow at the moment is our strikers.
You feel now, no matter how late in the game, that there is a goal in us, with Berba, Hernandez and (firing again) Rooney lurking. There have been numerous games already this season where we have looked dead and buried, only to emerge with the win. Recent victories over Blackpool and Southampton are case in point.
Wolves themselves will be no push over, having claimed a few scalps already this season. They turned over Chelsea in Molineux almost exactly a month ago. They will press hard and get in our faces, but don’t have a huge amount going forward. Stephen Hunt will miss out for them with a calf strain too. United to be tested but ultimately come out relatively comfortably.
Prediction: Wolves 1-3 United
