Spurs Youngster – I Deserve Starting Spot

Danny Rose is hoping to claim a starting spot for Tottenham after making a successful return from injury in the 1-0 win over Rubin Kazan on Thursday night.
The winger-come-left-back shot to prominence last April, hitting a 30-yard volley in the 2-1 win over Arsenal. However, since that game, the 21-year-old has made just a handful of appearances with injuries and form restricing his first-team opportunities.
A hamstring injury to first choice left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto saw the England man deployed at left-back for the final four league games of the season and he is hoping to dislodge his Cameroonian team-mate with some assured performances in Europe and by working hard in training.
“My ultimate aim is to be in the starting XI on a Saturday,” Rose said. I got in the team for the last four games of last season and did well.
“I started all right in pre-season and was unlucky to get the injury.
“That has set me back a bit, but I want to be in the starting line-up on a Saturday. The way I train I think I deserve to be in and around it.”
