Arsenal Legend – “Arshavin’s Been A Poor Buy”
Former Arsenal boss George Graham is unimpressed with Gunners forward Andrey Arshavin and feels he doesn’t put enough effort in.
The 30-year old joined from Zenit St. Petersburg back in January 2010 for a fee thought to be around £15million, and was an immediate hit with the Arsenal faithful putting in some dazzling displays as he helped the Gunners claw back to claim fourth spot.
However, the Russian’s form slowly deteriorated and he’s struggled to hold down a first team place this year. Graham believes the forward has lost his appetite for the game and claims the Russian has been a bad buy for the club.
“Arshavin’s been a poor buy. His enthusiasm doesn’t seem to be there,” said Graham.
“Against Marseille, and in the past, he’s looked like he doesn’t want to be there. He’s not been good enough, for me.”
