Tottenham Hotspur No.2 Joe Jordan has expressed his delight with the character shown from his players this season.
Jordan was quick to lavish praise on his side’s performance against Fulham two weeks ago, where Spurs survived a second half onslaught from the home side to come out 1-3 victors. And the Scot believes that kind of character will lead to success:
“The game wasn’t decided by the quality we showed last week, it was the resilience that we showed,” he told the Spurs website. “We had to dig in.
“Look at the games last Saturday, a few teams ended up winning, but didn’t just win easily. There is a reaction, a fight back from opposing teams.
“We had to dig in and make sure that we retained what we had at the end of the first half. We had to show those qualities.
“We didn’t lose the game and that’s why we are where we are in the table now. Hopefully we can continue like that because without those characteristics in the team, you can’t be successful.”
