Anelka to be sent home after bust-up
By Football Talk.
Chelsea and France forward Nicolas Anelka is to be sent home from the World Cup in South Africa after a half-time bust-up with manager Raymond Domenech during their 2-0 defeat to Mexico on Thursday, according to reports.
Domenech apparently criticised the striker for straying out of position during the first half. French sports newspaper L’Equipe claims Anelka responded with an explosive foul-mouthed rant, telling his boss to ‘Go fuck yourself you son of a whore’. Domenech responded by substituting the player and bringing on Andre-Pierre Gignac.
The manager appeared well before his players came out the tunnel following the half-time bust-up at the Peter Mokaba Stadium and looked a distinctly uncomfortable figure in the dug-out through-out the second half. This reported row is the latest in a whole host of rumours of unrest amongst the French dressing room and claims that Domenech has lost the support of the players.
Reports in France now claim a disciplinary hearing is due to take place this afternoon where the France Football Federation are likely to decide on sending Anelka home.
