Tottenham have received a huge injury boost ahead of Sunday’s game with Manchester United after manager Harry Redknapp eased fears over the fitness of Gareth Bale.
The Welshman didn’t feature for Wales against Costa Rica on Wednesday and it was feared he had torn his hamstring and was set for weeks on the sidelines.
However, in his weekly press conference today, Redknapp revealed those reports were wide of the mark and that Bale had nothing more than a tight hamstring with the Englishman hopeful the winger will be fit to face United this weekend.
When asked if Bale was set for a spell on the sidelines, Redknapp said:
“That’s absolutely a million miles wrong,”
“He hasn’t even got a tear in his hamstring. It’s just a little bit tight but it should be OK. It shouldn’t be a problem.
“We will have to wait and see how he is (for the weekend). Hopefully he should be OK.”
