Arsenal Hijack Liverpool’s Sahin Move
Arsenal have made a last ditch move to hold up Liverpool’s move for Nuri Sahin, with Arsene Wenger keen for the Real Madrid man to replace Barca-bound Alex Song

Arsenal have made a last ditch attempt to hold up Liverpool’s move for Nuri Sahin, according to the Daily Mail.
The Turkish midfielder was on the verge of completing a season-long loan move to Anfield on Thursday but a late call from the Gunners has stalled the deal.
The Mail claim Arsenal asked Sahin to postpone the move until they can resolve the future of Alex Song, and the 23-year-old agreed to hold out as he would prefer a move to the Gunners in order to play champions league football next season.
Cameroon midfielder Song has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona in recent days but with three years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates, boss Arsene Wenger is under no pressure to sell.
However, it’s understood the Frenchman is open to the idea of cashing in on Song but only if the Catalans table a bid over at least £15m.
The indications are that Barca will come back in with another bid having had a £12m offer knocked back and should they agree terms for Song, Wenger wants Sahin to be the man to replace him with the Real Madrid man seemingly keen on a move to north London.
The delay will come as a frustration to Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, who was hoping to announce his second signing in as many days after the capture of Oussama Assaidi from Heerenveen yesterday.
