Manchester United welcome Sunderland to Old Trafford this afternoon looking to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League table.
The Red devils head into the weekend holding a six point lead over rivals Manchester City after last weeks 3-2 win at the Etihad last weekend, and Sir Alex Ferguson will want to maintain that advantage after this weekend’s round of fixtures, with City beating Newcastle 3-1 at the time of writing.
Sir Alex Ferguson is able to call upon Wayne Rooney for today’s game despite the striker suffering from illness during the week. He starts alongside Robin Van Persie up front with Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young on the wings.
Nemanja Vidic is only fit enough for a place on the bench with Chris Smalling replacing the injured Jonny Evans at the back. Here are the confirmed line-ups for the game:
Man Utd Team
De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Ferdinand, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Young, Rooney, van Persie

Sunderland Team
