TRANSFER TALK: Chelsea priced out of move for defender?
Written by Football Talk.
Chelsea have been told by Benfica that they will have to pay an amazing £33m for defender David Luiz, according to the Daily Mail.
The premier league champions are on the look-out for a centre-half after selling Ricardo Carvalho to Real Madrid for £6.7m and the highly-rated Luiz is believed to be high on Carlo Ancelotti’s wish-list.
Manchester City have also been linked with a move for the Brazilian and Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira has stated that it would take a bid of £33m to force them into a sale.
He said: ‘We would only begin talks over an offer of about €40million.
‘It would be impossible to consider any offer less than that because it would be bad business for us. I want David Luiz to stay at the club for this season.’
