Arsenal took a huge step closer to ending their trophy drought with an impressive 4-1 win over Everton at the Emirates this afternoon.
Under-fire attacker Mesut Ozil opened the scoring with an excellent finish in the 7th minute but the Toffees pegged Arsenal back with an equaliser through Romelu Lukaku before half time.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain then won a penalty which was scored at the second attempt by Mikel Arteta after the referee insisted it had to be re-taken due to Olivier Giroud’s encroachment in the box. The France striker then bagged a late double to make it 4-1 and book the Gunners place at Wembley in the semi-final’s.
