Liverpool entertain Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon in a game of huge importance at the top of the table.
The Reds have no fresh injury worries to contend with but Brendan Rodgers may opt to recall Daniel Agger in defence after the Dane recovered from a knee problem that kept him out of last weeks win at West Ham. If Agger gets the nod, Mamadou Sakho is likely to be the one to drop out.
The Liverpool boss could also decide to adopt a more cautious approach to combat the threat of City’s attack with Lucas Leiva or Joe Allen coming in for Philippe Coutinho in midfield. Otherwise, he will stick with the same side that’s served him so well in recent months.
City have been boosted by the return of striker Sergio Aguero and he’s expected to come straight back in having returned to training following a hamstring injury. The Argentine may play just off Edin Dzeko in attack with David Silva and Samir Nasri on the wings.
Yaya Toure has also been passed fit to play after picking up a knock against Southampton last Saturday while Gael Clichy could be selected ahead of Alex Kolarov at left-back.
