Manchester United will be looking to close the gap on Spurs when they take on Sunderland at Old Trafford this afternoon.
The Red Devils go into the game sitting six points adrift of the north Londoners so can close the gap with a win today and keep alive their hopes of securing Europa League football next season.
Ryan Giggs is without Wayne Rooney for the game as he’s suffering from a tight groin as well as illness, so Javier Hernandez starts up front with Robin van Persie back on the bench. Nani also starts in midfield along with Darren Fletcher and Ashley Young, while Juan Mata returns to the starting eleven after scoring two from the bench last week.
Here are the confirmed line-ups:
Man Utd
De Gea, Jones, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Fletcher, Young, Mata, Hernandez
Subs: Amos, Smalling, Valencia, Fellaini, Januzaj, Welbeck, Van Persie.
Sunderland
