Premier League action returns this weekend as Manchester City entertain Tottenham at the Etihad in Saturday’s lunchtime kick off. Here are predicted line-ups for the game:
Man City
Goalkeeper: Manuel Pellegrini is expected to go with his regular No.1, Joe Hart, for the game.
Defence: Mangala has forced his way in to the City starting eleven with some dominant performances and he’s expected to get the nod ahead of Demichelis once again this weekend. Gael Clichy could start ahead of Alexander Kolarov at left-back.
Midfield: Yaya Toure doesn’t return to training from international duty until Friday so he’s unlikely to be fit to start. This could mean Frank Lampard plays alongside Fernando with Fernandinho struggling with a hamstring problem.
Attack: Samir Nasri is out with a groin injury so James Milner should keep his place along with David Silva in attack. Sergio Aguero is expected to play just behind Eden Dzeko up front.
Tottenham
Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris is a doubt with a minor groin injury but Mauricio Pochettino will give him until the last minute to prove his fitness.
Defence: Kyle Walker continues on the sidelines with a pelvic problem and with Kyle Naughton also out with an ankle knock, Eric Dier should start at right-back. Jan Vertonghen is likely to start alongside skipper Younes Kaboul in the centre of defence.
Midfield: Ryan Mason has been a feature in recent weeks but I think Pochettino will go with experience away at City which could see Mousa Dembele start alongside Etienne Capoue in midfield.
Attack: Nacer Chadli is expected to shake-off a hip injury to start with Christian Eriksen and Eric Lamela in attack. Emmanuel Adebayor is sure to start ahead of Roberto Soldado up front if he’s passed fit after returning home late international duty.
