Liverpool came from behind to book their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday night.
The Reds started well and dominated the first half but were unable to find a breakthrough, so the hosts managed to get to the break with the score still at 0-0.
An FA Cup shock looked to be on the cards when Bolton took a surprise lead just after half-time when Martin Skrtel was adjudged to have fouled Zach Clough in the area. Eidur Gudjohnsen stepped up to cooly slot home for 1-0.
A major turning point came less than ten minutes later when Bolton were reduced to 10-men. Neil Danns was sent off for two bookable offences following a foul on Joe Allen in the 66th minute.
With just five minutes of normal time left, Liverpool equalised when Emre Can found Raheem Sterling with a smart ball over the top and the youngster finished well for 1-1.
Then, with extra-time looming, Philippe Coutinho stepped up to curl home a stunning strike off the crossbar to send the Merseysiders into the fifth round where they’ll meet Crystal Palace.
