Arsenal let slip a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon with Harry Kane getting both goals for Spurs. Here are player ratings from disappointed Arsenal fan, Gooner Mac:
Ospina 6/10 | Very unconvincing performance. Made some decent saves but more often than not he flapped them back into play. Not a good trait for a goalkeeper and it proved costly with the equaliser.
Bellerin 6/10 | Struggled to deal with Danny Rose in the first half but improved after the break.
Mertesacker 7/10 | Kept things together in the first half but could do little to prevent the hosts getting back in the game after the break.
Koscielny 6/10 | He’ll be disappointed not to have done better for Kane’s winning goal. Otherwise he was solid enough.
Monreal 7/10 | Did a great job keeping Erik Lamela quiet but offered very little going forward.
Coquelin 7/10 | Another solid shift from the Frenchman but certainly lost-out in the midfield battle with Mason and Bentaleb.
Ramsey 5/10 | Very poor from Rambo today. He was extremely sloppy in possession and couldn’t get near the Spurs midfield at times.
Welbeck 6.5/10 | Superb work to create the opening goal and nearly got on the score-sheet himself with a curling effort after the break. But his touch was poor at times so still looked a little rusty after his injury absence.
Cazorla 5/10 | Disappointing performance from the in-form Cazorla. He wasn’t given a second on the ball by the Spurs players and thus his threat was snuffed out.
Ozil 6/10 | Well taken goal but offered little else in truth.
Giroud 6/10 | Picked up an assist and worked hard up top, but had few options to play with at times as he seemed isolated.
Subs:
Rosicky (6), Walcott (6), Akpom (N/A).
Overall, it’s hard to argue with the result. Spurs dominated for long periods, we were poor in possession and didn’t create enough. However, what was most worrying is that their players wanted it more. Hopefully we can get this performance quickly out our system against Leicester on Tuesday….
