Arsenal will be looking to book their place in the quarter finals of the FA Cup when we entertain Middlesbrough at the Emirates on Sunday. Here is the side I think Arsene Wenger will select:
Goalkeeper: The boss has confirmed that Wojceich Szczesny will start in goal so the Pole has a chance to wrestle the No.1 shirt back from David Ospina after losing his place recently.
Defence: Wenger also confirmed that he’ll make a few changes and hinted that Gabriel could make his debut in defence. If so, I think it will be Laurent Koscielny who’s rested with Per Mertesacker starting alongside the Brazilian in central defence. Kieran Gibbs should also come back in after being left-out in recent weeks while Calum Chambers could start at right-back.
Midfield: Mathieu Flamini is another who is pushing for a recall but I think we’ll see Francis Coquelin keep his place in the holding role. Aaron Ramsey is ruled out with a hamstring injury while I think Santi Cazorla may be rested, so Tomas Rosicky could start in the middle alongside Mesut Ozil. Jack Wilshere could be back in the squad for the first time in nearly three months but it’s too soon for him to start, so a place on the bench is the best he can hope for.
Attack: Alexis Sanchez is a doubt with a knee injury that he sustained against Leicester on Tuesday night and I don’t think we’ll take any chances with him. Olivier Giroud should therefore start up front with Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott likely to fill the wide positions, as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still out with a groin problem.
Here is how I think we’ll see Arsenal line-up:
What do you think of the team and what eleven would you pick?
