Manchester United have announced record annual revenue figures Of £363.2m for the year ending June 30th 2013, according to Sky Sports.
The Premier League champions have been investing heavily in securing new commercial partnerships with several new deals being struck during the past 12 months.
The latest deals were announced today with United signing regional sponsorship agreements with Commercial Bank of Qatar and Emirates NBD Bank.
The five-year deals will see the banking companies become official financial partners for the football club in Qatar and United Arab Emirates, with both organisations given the rights to produce United-branded credit, debit and prepaid cards. Emirates NBD Bank will also be given license to market it’s own Manchester United savings accounts.
These deals are just two of several lucrative commercial agreements United have entered into recently so it’s easy to see why commercial revenues have increased by 29.7% to £152.5m for the year ending 30th June 2013.
While the commercial figures are certainly impressive and have contributed significantly to the revenue figures, it’s the overall 13.4% increase to turnover which has seen revenue hit an all-time high of £363.2m. There is also positive news on the clubs debut, which has fallen by 10.9% to £389.2m.
These figures show that United are not only setting the standard on the pitch here in England, but they are also showing how it’s done on the commercial side of things. Although many will argue the two go hand-in-hand.
