Spurs Ace Has Dig At Rivals Arsenal….

By on November 1, 2011

Tottenham forward Rafael van der Vaart insists Spurs are still the best team in North London, despite Arsenal’s excellent victory over Chelsea at the weekend.

The Gunners have won eight of their last nine matches, the only defeat coming with a 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane. Tottenham extended their own unbeaten run to seven matches with a 3-1 win over QPR with the Dutchman scoring his fifth successive Premier League game, and Van der Vaart was in boisterous mood declaring Spurs are now better than their North London rivals:

“We are better than Arsenal,” Van der Vaart said.

“In our last seven games we have won six and drawn once. It’s a long season, but I think we have a bigger and better squad.”

The Dutchman believes his side could even challenge the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.

“Are we the best team in London? Maybe, but it’s still early,” Van der Vaart said.

“We’re in a good way. We are much better than we were last season.

“Man City is the best team in the league and below them you have a lot of good teams and we are one of them.”

“still the best team in North London”. Bwahahahaha! Only a spud could write that lol. I can’t even remember the last time Totts finished above the Arsenal in the league let alone won the thing. It hasn’t happened in my lifetime and I’m 40! Bizarre

Arsenal are in this season’s Champions’League, Spurs are not. Arsenal are in the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup, Spurs are not. Arsenal leads Spurs by a mile in the North London derby. Arsenal has just emerged victorious, 5-3 from the lair of a title contender while Spurs have been thrashed 5-1 in their own backyard by another title contender. Form is temporary, class is permanent. VDV’s unprovoked dig at Arsenal shows a distinct lack of class.

Someone should tell this van der Faart to keep his hole shut or he could end up swallowing some unpleasant objects. Spuds will have to achieve success for the next two decades before they can start dreaming of being a better club than the true kings of London, Arsenal. How many times have spuds won the league? One season in the champions league and they think they’re world beaters. Stick to the europa league because that’s where you’ll end up as usual after talking yourselves up.
