PSV vs Man Utd Preview, Team News, Likely Line-Up, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Manchester United take on PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion this evening. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-up, predicted score for the game.
Manchester United make their return to the Champions League group stages when they take on PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion this evening.
United failed to qualify for any European competition last season following a hugely disappointing 2013/14 campaign that saw them finish seventh in the Premier League table.
However, the Red Devils returned to Europe’s elite competition with a comfortable two-legged victory over Club Brugge in the play-off stages last month.
Louis van Gaal’s men should head into the game in confident mood after their impressive 3-1 victory over North West rivals Liverpool at the weekend and the United boss will be looking for a positive start in Europe tonight.
The game will see Memphis Depay come up against his former side just a few months after leaving his boyhood club for Old Trafford but he insists he will celebrate if he finds the back of the net this evening.
PSV have endured a mixed start to their Eredivisie title defence but will come into the game in buoyant mood after a 6-0 thrashing of Cambuur at the weekend.
Team news
Skipper Wayne Rooney has been left back in Manchester nursing the same knock that ruled him out of the Liverpool game on Saturday but he should return to face Southampton on Sunday.
Marouane Fellaini deputised up front at the weekend but Anthony Martial could come in to make his first start after scoring a superb goal from the bench last time out.
Michael Carrick is unlikely to play his second game in four days so Morgan Schneiderlin should come in after being left out on Saturday.
Phil Jones is still out with thrombosis but forwards James Wilson and Andreas Pereira are both in the squad.

Predicted Score
PSV 1-2 Manchester United: United were looking somewhere near back to their best against Liverpool on Saturday, especially in the second half, and while I think they’ll miss Rooney’s presence up front, I still think they should have enough to edge past PSV.
Betting Tips
Manchester United are the 13/10 favourites but Football-Talk can get new customers enhanced odds of 6/1 on United winning the game. My prediction of a 2-1 away win is on offer at 17/2 and I also like the look of Memphis Depay to open the scoring at odds of 11/2. If we combine those two bets in a score-cast, then we get very tempting odds of 30/1.
