Man Utd will continue their Champions League adventure when they take on CSKA Moscow in Russia on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils bounced back from a Matchday One defeat at PSV Eindhoven by beating Wolfsburg last time out but Group B is finely poised with all four teams level on 3 points with the same goal difference.

It means the upcoming double-header against CSKA Moscow could prove crucial if United are to qualify for the knockout stages so Louis van Gaal will be demanding a performance from his players.

The Dutchman will hope to see a repeat of the display at Goodison Park on Saturday that saw United secure an impressive 3-0 victory to keep them in touch at the top of the Premier League.

However, they’ll face a tricky test this evening as CSKA Moscow are yet to taste defeat on home soil this season and are five points clear at the top of the Russia Premier League after an unbeaten start to the campaign.

United will be without Ashley Young after he was ruled out with a calf injury that he picked up against Arsenal before the international break so he joins long-term injury victim Luke Shaw on the sidelines.

Paddy McNair is also unavailable as he continues to recover from the abdominal injury he sustained with Northern Ireland while James Wilson has been left back in Manchester due to illness.

van Gaal may decide to give Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones a breather ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby as they’ve only recently returned to action, so Daley Blind and Antonio Valencia could come back in to the defence.

Memphis Depay has saved his best form for Europe so he could also get a recall after being left out against Everton while Anthony Martial and Bastian Schweinsteiger could get a rest ahead of the City clash.
