Chelsea Suffer Major Injury Blow With Star Facing Month On The Sidelines

Chelsea have suffered a major injury blow with the news that Eden Hazard is facing up to a month on the sidelines with a niggling hip injury, according to the Express.
Hazard has struggled to overcome his troublesome hip problem in recent weeks having initially been sidelined with the injury at the start of 2016 when he spent three weeks on the sidelines back in January.
The Belgian international was once again forced off after aggravating the injury during last weeks disappointing Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain and subsequently missed Saturday’s FA Cup loss at Everton.
Chelsea were initially hopeful the issue wasn’t serious and Hazard could return within days, however, the Express claim that the club now fear the winger could be facing up to four weeks on the sidelines with the recurring problem.
The newspaper says that the Hazard camp is ‘deeply concerned’ about the injury and the players own father recently voiced his concern over the problem after saying his son’s injury woes are the reason for his poor form this season, with the 25-year-old only managing to score two goals in 38 appearances so far this campaign.
We’ll have to wait for an official diagnosis to come out from Chelsea but it would be a big blow to lose Hazard as Guus Hiddink looks to end a hugely disappointing season on a high note.
However, to make matters worse, the Express claim that Diego Costa is facing a further one-game ban after being charged for his antics at Goodison Park at the weekend.
Costa was dismissed after picking up two yellow cards and although he was cleared of allegedly ‘biting’ Gareth Barry, the striker was charged for his actions during the game in which he appeared to spit at the feet of referee Michael Oliver and make a gesture towards the home crowd.
The Brazilian-born hitman is already certain to miss Saturday’s home game with West Ham but could also miss the following weekend’s trip to Aston Villa if he’s found guilty of his improper conduct charge.
