Man Utd Team News: 5 Key Players Could Miss Swansea Clash
Jose Mourinho could be without as many as five key players for Manchester United’s Premier League trip to Wales to take on Swansea City on Sunday
Manchester United will be looking to get their season back on track when they take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Jose Mourinho has mounting selection problems in both defence and midfield with as many as five key first team players at risk of missing the trip to Wales tomorrow.
Paul Pogba is the latest fitness concern as the French international is considered a major doubt to face Swansea after limping out of the 2-1 defeat at Fenerbahce in midweek with a leg injury.
The world’s most expensive player was forced off shortly before half time during the Europa League tie in Turkey on Thursday night and is now facing a race against time to prove his fitness ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash.
With Ander Herrera certain to miss the Swansea game through suspension following his controversial sending off against Burnley last weekend, Mourinho could be without two of his first choice central midfielders.
Michael Carrick is expected to come back in to the side after being rested for the midweek loss at Fenerbahce but it remains to be seen whether Pogba will line-up alongside the experienced Englishman.
Chris Smalling is also a major doubt for the trip to the Liberty Stadium as he continues to nurse a foot injury that’s kept him out of the last three matches in all competitions having suffered the problem during the 4-0 defeat at Chelsea last month.
With Eric Bailly out until the middle of December with a knee ligament injury and Phil Jones still lacking match fitness having not featured yet this season, it means Mourinho has selection issues in the middle of defence.
Daley Blind is certain to start and the Dutch international is likely to be joined once again by Marcos Rojo – with the Argentinean full-back set to be deployed as a make-shift centre-back for the third consecutive game.

The final absentee is Antonio Valencia with the Ecuadorian international ruled out for several weeks after fracturing his arm during the EFL Cup win over Manchester City so Matteo Darmian is expected to continue at right-back tomorrow.
