Man Utd Team News: Mourinho Confirms Double Injury Boost But Duo Ruled Out Of Cup Tie
Jose Mourinho has confirmed a double injury boost ahead of Manchester United’s FA Cup clash with Huddersfield but two others have been ruled out.
Manchester United will be looking to book their place in the quarter finals of the FA Cup when they take on Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday evening.
Ahead of the game, Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided reporters with the latest team and injury news.
The United boss confirmed a huge boost with the news that Eric Bailly is fit and available for selection this weekend after the centre-back recovered from ankle surgery.
Bailly has been on the sidelines for over three months after sustaining the injury during the November international break but the defender has returned to full training and could feature on Sunday.
There were fears Paul Pogba had picked up a knock after he was withdrawn against Newcastle at the weekend but Mourinho has confirmed the midfielder is fit and will play against Huddersfield this weekend.
However, there wasn’t such positive news on Marcus Rashford as Mourinho has revealed the striker has failed to recover from the muscle injury that kept him out of the defeat at Newcastle United last time out.
In a double blow, Ander Herrera is also still unavailable with a thigh injury that kept him out of the trip to St James Park so United will have to make-do without two players who would arguably have started the game against Huddersfield.

Otherwise, United will continue to be without Marouane Fellaini due to a knee injury while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still not available yet as he’s working his way back to full fitness from a knee problem.
Mourinho is expected to make changes to his starting eleven this weekend with several of his key men rested ahead of their Champions League first leg against Sevilla in Spain next week.
