Man Utd Team News: Mourinho Confirms Injury Boost But 4 Players To Miss Wolves Game
Jose Mourinho has confirmed an injury boost ahead of Man Utd’s clash with Wolves but four other players will miss the game at Old Trafford.
Manchester United will be looking to continue their recent good form with another win when they welcome Wolves to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference today and he’s provided a team news and injury update ahead of the game. The Reds boss was pleased to confirm an injury boost with the news that Phil Jones is back in contention after recovering from a hamstring injury.
The England international has been on the sidelines since suffering the problem during United’s 3-0 thrashing by Tottenham Hotspur late last month but the centre-back is back in training and could return to the squad this weekend.
However, it wasn’t all good news as Mourinho also told reporters that Ander Herrera is still not ready to make his comeback. The midfielder has missed the last two matches with an ankle injury that he suffered in training and while he’s in the final phase of his recovery, the Wolves game will come too soon.
Marcos Rojo is also still on the sidelines as the centre-back is yet to resume full training having missed the opening weeks of the new season with a knee injury that he picked up while away with the Argentina squad at the World Cup finals. Rojo did play for the U23’s last week but is still not ready for first team action just yet.
United will also have to make-do without Marcus Rashford as the striker will serve the second of a three-match suspension following his sending off against Burnley. Nemanja Matic is also suspended after being dismissed against Watford last weekend so United will be without four first team squad players tomorrow.
Summer signing Diogo Dalot made his first team debut during the Champions League win at Young Boys on Wednesday night but Mourinho says the young full-back won’t feature against Wolves as he’ll be saved ahead of next week’s League Cup clash with Derby County.
Mourinho said at his press conference this morning Phil Jones is fit again after missing the last three games. Herrera and Rojo not fit. Dalot won't play against Wolves but will start against Derby on Tuesday.

United head in to the weekend action off the back of three consecutive victories in all competitions so Mourinho will be desperate to climb up the Premier League table with another three points against Wolves at Old Trafford.
