Man Utd Team News: Mourinho Confirms Huge Injury Blow, 6 Men To Miss Juventus Clash
Jose Mourinho has confirmed a fresh injury blow with at least six players set to miss Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Juventus.
Manchester United will look to get back to winning ways in the Champions League when they welcome Juventus to Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update with United set to be without as many as six first team squad players for the game tomorrow.
Mourinho confirmed a big blow with the news that Alexis Sanchez is unavailable for selection due to an unspecified problem. The Chilean international was used as a late substitute during the 2-2 draw at Chelsea on Saturday and Mourinho says he’ll now miss the European clash at Old Trafford.
Sanchez was one of six players who were absent at training today, according to talkSPORT, with Phil Jones, Scott McTominay, Jesse Lingard, Marouane Fellaini and Diogo Dalot also missing at Carrington and Mourinho has suggested they too are unavailable for selection tomorrow night after saying the players who trained are the ones available.
Antonio Valencia also missed the dramatic 2-2 draw with Chelsea at the weekend and Mourinho has confirmed the full-back had undergone mouth surgery recently. The Ecuadorian international is back in training but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be in the squad to face Juventus.
The United boss told reporters:
Mourinho on Sanchez, "The players you saw are the ones who are available. Nothing to hide. Alexis is out."

Jose on Valencia absence: "Reason was he was 10 days without training. A problem that he had very complicated surgery on his mouth. Needed time to recover."

Lingard has been nursing a groin injury in recent weeks so it looks like the England international is still working his way to full fitness while McTominay picked up a knee problem while away with Scotland last week.
Fellaini failed to feature for Belgium during the international break after suffering a groin injury in training and the midfielder is now set to miss the visit of Juventus having sat out the trip to Chelsea at the weekend.
Jones wasn’t in the squad that travelled to Stamford Bridge on Saturday and he’s expected to miss the game tomorrow while Dalot is also absent with the summer signing carrying a knock.
United head in to the game tomorrow night on four points having beaten Young Boys and drawn at home with Valencia so Mourinho will be desperate to take control of the group with a win over the Serie A champions.
