Star Ruled Out As Mourinho Makes 1 Change | Expected Man Utd Line-Up vs Juventus

Manchester United will look to get back to winning ways in the Champions League when they welcome Juventus to Old Trafford on Tuesday night. Here is the line-up I think Jose Mourinho will go with:

Goalkeeper: There is no deliberation needed over who’ll start in goal as David De Gea is certain to keep his place between the sticks against Juventus unless he picks up a late injury. Sergio Romero should once again act as back-up from the bench.

Defence: Antonio Valencia missed the draw with Chelsea at the weekend after undergoing surgery on a mouth problem. The Ecuadorian international is back in full training but this game may come too soon so Ashley Young could retain his place at right-back.

Eric Bailly is pushing for a recall but I think Mourinho will stick with Victor Lindelof alongside Chris Smalling in the middle of defence. Phil Jones wasn’t able to train at Carrington this afternoon so he’s set to miss out again but Luke Shaw should keep his place at left-back.

Midfield: Nemanja Matic came through the Chelsea game unscathed after recovering from a back injury that he sustained during the international break so he should once again keep his place in the starting eleven.

Paul Pogba is certain to keep his place in midfield so the Frenchman will face-off against his former club, however, Marouane Fellaini is yet to resume full training as he continues to overcome a groin problem that he picked up while away with the Belgian squad.

Juan Mata performed well in a more central midfield role against Chelsea at the weekend but Mourinho might be tempted to recall Fred to add a bit more bite in the middle of the park against the Serie A champions.

Attack: United have been dealt a blow with the news that Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out of the game. The Chilean international was a late substitute against Chelsea but wasn’t able to train today and Mourinho confirmed at his pre-match press conference that Sanchez wasn’t available due to an unspecified injury.

Therefore, Anthony Martial is set to keep his place in attack after a superb performance at the weekend that saw him score two excellent goals so Mourinho will be hoping for another top display from the Frenchman.

Romelu Lukaku will be desperate to end his goal drought as he’ll lead the line up front once again while Marcus Rashford is expected to keep his place in the attack with Jesse Lingard still out with a groin injury.

Here is how we think United will line-up:
