Man Utd Dealt Major Fresh Injury Concern Ahead Of Crucial Man City Trip

Manchester United have been dealt a major fresh injury concern after Paul Pogba was forced to miss training on Friday ahead of this weekend’s clash with Manchester City, according to Sky Sports News.
Pogba completed the full ninety minutes during United’s dramatic 2-1 victory over former club Juventus in the group stages of the Champions League on Wednesday night and didn’t appear to pick up any sort of knock in Turin.
Jose Mourinho reported no new injury concerns during his pre-match press conference on Friday morning ahead of Sunday’s trip to the Etihad Stadium to take on Premier League leaders Manchester City.
However, it seems United have been handed an untimely injury scare as Sky Sports claim Pogba was unable to train with the rest of the United squad at Carrington on Friday afternoon after picking up what’s described as a ‘little injury’.
The news outlet says Pogba was able to undergo individual work in the gym so United will be hoping the 25-year-old can prove his fitness at training on Saturday and make himself available for selection against City.
Pogba’s knock will come as a concern to Mourinho as the Frenchman has been a key player for United during what’s been an inconsistent season so the Portuguese coach will be praying the midfielder is passed fit on Sunday.
United will also hand a late fitness test to Romelu Lukaku as the striker bids to return from a hamstring injury. The Belgian international missed the games against Bournemouth and Juventus due to the issue but returned to training today and will aim to prove his fitness at Carrington on Saturday.
However, there is no guarantee Lukaku will be handed an instant recall to the starting eleven as he was struggling in front of goal before his injury and Alexis Sanchez has performed well up front in his absence.
