“Clown”, “Get Him Out My Club” – Some Fans Savage Man Utd Player After Valencia Loss

Some Manchester United fans have savaged Phil Jones on social media after he scored a comedy own goal during their Champions League defeat to Valencia.
Jose Mourinho made several changes to his starting eleven for the final group game as Man Utd had already secured safe passage to the knockout stages of the competition.
Jones was one of the few players who retained his place from the side that beat Fulham 4-1 at Old Trafford in the Premier League last weekend but the centre-back had a night to forget in Spain.
The 26-year-old looked vulnerable all night and was partly at fault for Valencia’s opening goal as his poor header fell straight to Carlos Soler who fired home for 1-0 in the 17th minute.
However, things got a whole lot worse for Jones shortly after half-time as he scored a calamitous own goal to gift Valencia a 2-0 lead in the 47th minute as he poked the ball past Sergio Romero from the edge of the area.
United pulled one back when Marcus Rashford came off the bench to reduce the deficit with an 87th minute header but the hosts held on to seal a 2-1 win at the Mestalla.
The horror-show from Jones prompted a number of Man Utd fans to destroy the defender on social media with some labelling him a ‘clown’, a ‘joke’ while some demanded he leaves the club as soon as possible.
The defeat in Spain came at a cost as with Juventus surprisingly losing to Young Boys in Switzerland, Man Utd missed out on the opportunity to finish top of the table and get a more favourable draw in the last-16.

This happens too much with Phil Jones to be a coincidence
Get him out of the club

Jones at fault for both goals. The first he heads clear straight to the goal scorer and doesn’t close down. The second is a comedy own goal. The few top games he has (and he does have really good games) are not worth the joke defending he’s so often guilty of.

I take it all back. That's as bad as it will ever get. 2-0 Valencia. One of the worst own goals you will ever see. End the game now, throw the towel in.

The human brain is amazing. It functions 24 hours a day from the time we were born, and only stops when we are in love or when Phil Jones plays football pic.twitter.com/V7ROTrArWy

Irony is Jones had been the most vocal defender screaming at his fellow defenders. Gifted Valencia two goals tonight. #mufc

How did Phil Jones become a footballer earning millions every year?

Seriously! Why is Phil Jones still at the club? He consistently costs us games and we're still offering him a new contract.. No wonder we're on the decline when we're rewarding crap
